General Motors (GM) объявила о старте регистрации предзаказов на свои первые электрические велосипеды в ряде странах Европы.

О планах начать производство электровелосипедов компания сообщила в ноябре прошлого года. После этого GM объявила о проведении краудсорсинговой кампании с целью выбора названия бренда. В итоге выбор пал на название — Ariv.

Под новым брендом будут выпускаться две модели: Meld, компактный электровелосипед, и Merge, складной электровелосипед.

Большая часть характеристик новинок пока держится в секрете. Компания сообщила, что электровелосипеды будут способны развивать скорость до 25 км/ч. Дальность пробега от одного заряда составит до 64 км. На зарядку батареи потребуется около 3,5 часа.

Большинство брендов по выпуску электровелосипедов используют моторы таких компаний, как Bosch и Shimano, но модели ARĪV оснащены моторами собственной разработки GM.

GM дебютирует с новинками в Германии, Бельгии и Нидерландах, где электровелосипеды с литий-ионным аккумулятором пользуются популярностью.

В Бельгии и Нидерландах цена модели Ariv Meld начинается с €2800, а Ariv Merge обойдётся в €3400. Цены в Германии будут немного ниже. GM рассчитывает начать отгрузку товара клиентам во втором квартале этого года. Оформить предзаказ можно на сайте www.BikeExchange.com.
