Volvo Trucks объявила о подписании соглашения с компанией Brønnøy Kalk AS. По условиям договора, самоуправляемые грузовики Volvo займутся перевозкой известняка в Норвегии.

Пилотные проекты по автоматизации тяжёлых машин, задействованных в горнодобывающей промышленности, переработке отходов и на плантациях сахарного тростника, показали, что автоматизированные технологии не только повысят безопасность, но и значительно увеличат производительность.

По условиям договора с Brønnøy Kalk AS, компания Volvo предоставит шесть роботизированных грузовиков. Они будут перевозить известняк с открытой добывающей площадки к дробильной установке. Длина маршрута, пролегающего через тоннели, составит приблизительно пять километров.

«Вне всякого сомнения, беспилотные грузовые автомобили Volvo станут обычным явлением на дорогах. Когда точно это произойдёт, зависит от многих факторов, таких как правила дорожного движения, дорожная инфраструктура и, конечно же, стандарты безопасности», — заявляет Volvo Trucks.
