В следующей серии бондианы агент 007 сменит свой Aston Martin V8 Vantage на полностью электрический автомобиль Aston Martin Rapide E, который выйдет ограниченным тиражом.

Сообщивший об этом британский таблоид The Sun утверждает, что на этом настоял режиссёр нового фильма Кэри Дзёдзи Фукунага (Cory Joji Fukunaga), являющийся активным защитником окружающей среды.

Aston Martin ранее подтвердил, что всего будет выпущено 155 единиц Rapide E, и первые поставки запланированы на конец 2019 года.

Это может сказаться на сроках выхода очередного фильма о Джеймсе Бонде, премьера которого была перенесена на апрель 2020 года после того, как предыдущий режиссер Дэнни Бойл (Danny Boyle) покинул проект и его заменил Фукунага.

Rapide E имеет максимальную скорость 155 миль в час (249 км/ч). На разгон с 0 до 60 миль/ч (97 км/ч) у электромобиля уходит 4 с. С 50 до 70 миль в час (80–113 км/ч) электромобиль разгоняется за 1,5 с. Ёмкость батареи Rapide E равна 65 кВт·ч. Два электрических двигателя общей мощностью 602 лошадиных силы и крутящим моментом 950 Н·м установлены на задней оси Rapide E.

Стоимость электромобиля Aston Martin Rapide E составит около £ 250 000 ($ 331 000).
